One of my many facets that I have been called on is my boldness and
aggressive attitude towards paganism. In the last year I have found
that these qualities can earn you good friends and bad enemies.
A few months ago I was invited into a rather large group. Things
went well there until I posted and article beyond small talk. I
ended up getting challenged, not on the work, but on the Den.
Snowden's Den is something that I am very proud of because it has
just as many facets as I do. It can be light and fun or it can be
serious and down right rude. It is a stage where life plays out and
ideas are born.
I was banned from the group before I ever really got a chance to
defend the Den or myself. Nothing new there. I have been banned from
a lot of groups because of my attitude. Time went by and the world
moved on.
Then out of nowhere the owner of the group I was removed from
invited me back. She had been away when the whole mess transpired
and was simply righting a wrong. I accepted her invite and went back
to a rather warm welcome. And things went fine until I posted an
article beyond small talk.
New guy, it challenge to my work. But at least he did not attack the
Den..... at first. Of course just as before the Den and how it
operates came into question but this time I was given the
opportunity to defend myself and free reign should anyone come along
to debate with me.
A few things were tossed back and forth between this new challenger
and me until he finally bowed out and decided to let me be. And
peace returned.
Sometimes we run into challenges that we don't have the opportunity
to deal with at that exact moment. But time has a funny way of
coming back around and a second chance is made available. The trick
is not to miss that chance.
If you see a wrong then time never erases that wrong. It can still
be corrected years after the misdeed was done. And when it comes to
challenges one should never just walk away. Have your say and show
mercy if you wish but at least do something. It keeps the peace in
you mind and soul and lets you know that no matter what fate might
bring turnabout is fair play.
