* The sword is the great equalizer recognizing neither rank nor
Privilege.
*A man's word and courage are his honor. Should he break either he
is shamed.
*The sword is the only unbiased judge in settling affairs of honor.
*If they be matters that touch your honor and that you be compelled
to accept the combat, do the best you can when you have your sword
in hand, and consider that fights are dangerous. Your enemy may kill
you or put you in danger of your life, but this at least before
dishonor.
*If he be your friend go not with him into the field. But if you do
go, do your best. Because it seems childish to say "I will go and
fight but I will spare him and favor him."
*If he be your friend that will need fights with you, you may tell
him that you have given him no cause, nor offered any wrong, and if
any other have made a false report, that is his to prove and justify
or withdraw the challenge.
*When you find him with sword in hand that will need fights with
you, although he were your friend or kinsman, take him for an enemy
and trust him not.
*To walk away from strong words or a challenge is shameful. Honor is
held fast by courage and courage must be proved by action.
*In some cases a battle till first blood will satisfy honor but turn
not your back on a maliced man less he be disarmed. Once disarmed
the fight is over should mercy hold.
*The wronging or death of a friend or loved one must be righted with
honor and justice in mind.
*There is no honor in fighting a man when the advantage is yours.
Ti's sport and nothing more. Never should you fight and unarmed man.
*Honor and chivalry bind a man into withholding a challenge to
anyone who has held his heart.
*Sometimes a man of honor must do what he swears regardless of the
consequences. But for the most part a man of honor need only live
with what he does.
*A Master of Arms is more honorable than a Master of Arts, for good
fighting came before good writing.
*Good shall always triumph over evil. It is never more complicated
than that.
*Draw if you be men.
