Deadly Medicine

Life in the ancient world was a lot different from the world today.
Today's views and reconstructions of the pagan world are so smeared
and distorted that we can very rarely ever see a clear picture in any
of it. That world has been shattered like an antique mirror and the
shards people gather tend to only reflect their own personal
interpretation and fantasies of what life was once like.
Add to that the massive dose of Christian spin and lies and the fact
that written word is not all that old and the chances for any actual
pagan ideals survival is thin. But how did a small cult become the
largest influence in world history? Especially in a world where
communication was very limited and the laws much more strict.
The answer is, times where hard and the people who had to live it
were even harder. There was no love and light. There was fighting and
darkness. There was no 3 fold law, there was a flat out basic need
for survival. Strength was encouraged and honored. And the weak were
simply left to die.
Under the modern perception, at one time, the entire world was pagan.
Anything pre-Christian has been excepted as pagan these days. Back
then it was a bit different. What is not excepted by the masses today
was a way of survival back then. Pagan spirituality empowered the
greatest warriors in mythology to have their names immortalized.
Today we are lucky to have a tombstone read.
What does pagan spirituality lead people to today? Nothing. A life of
silence, fear, and intimidation. Today's "pagans" hide in the
crevasses of the Christian boot. And they seem to be quite happy
there. But once again....how did a "world way" become the "no way"?
Christians throughout history are a loud and proud people. In their
faith and in there drive they have proved themselves as an
unstoppable force to be reckoned with. And what they could not
destroy they converted and assimilated. Some call it wrong, I call it
genius!
Through war and hate, curses and plagues, the Christians held fast to
their message and ways. They fought to earn their place in society
and in history and the feared no one. Nothing in their religion bid
them to be silent. They were told the exact opposite. Tell the world
who and what you are and invite them to join you. And the world did.
But most importantly of all...they were and have always been united
under one cause. Granted they have many different sects but the
overall gathering is the same. There is not many Christians who will
go out and say "I have my own path." Yet nearly every single pagan
today will say just that. Pagans no longer have a common denominator.
No common bond what so ever. They are segregated and weak as a
people. They have no one leader or icon and will not except any.
There is little true unity and as the old saying goes "divided we
fall".
Pagans today can study all the "magic" they want. that still does not
make them pagan. It does not make them anything at all. To become
pagan you must learn something of history not magic. Ancient history.
Every single detail you can scrap up. And then when you have it you
have to put it into practice. And here we meet strike two against the
pagans. They are way too modernized for their own good.
People have become dependent's. We lost all knowledge and willpower
to survive as one with nature. Instead we try to be the masters of
it. Unknowingly weakening ourselves even further into extinction. And
we are left to wonder if someone from ancient society would be
impressed with our ways or disgusted.
Would an actual pagan be impressed by the way we worship their gods?
Probably not. In fact most of our worshiping practices would probably
be seen as an insult. When our pagan gods were in power in the world
there was a set way of worshiping each of them that was practiced
every single day. Now each has "their own way" of honoring those
ancient gods and goddesses. It is little wonder they never really
answer.
Perhaps it is because the pagan voice is spoken in such a hushed
whisper that the old gods can no longer hear us. But the Christians
saw to it that not enough people would speak out and call to the old
gods. They keep giving us that deadly medicine.....fear.

However, suppress a people enough and sooner or later they are going
to become immune to the techniques and guises you feed them. They
will build up a defense against the toxins and lies. And then when
you least expect it someone will come along and give them the one
thing they need to thrive. Unity.
And some of them will have the raw will to use all of your techniques
against you. They will reclaim what was theirs to begin with, they
will steel, and they will spread lies until they are back on top of
the world. Might not be right. But it is the way religion works.
