The Spirit of a Witch

Witch crafting is spirit crafting. Make sense? Witchcraft is a
spiritual journey. And like on any journey you face the elements of
nature. Sometimes when the sun is shining in our lives we get a
sunburn. "To much of a good thing." And sometimes in our lives when
the clouds darken the sky we can't see the stars that guide our way.
For a witch a partly cloudy day is a good day.

As we mingle through the pagan world we are often attracted to
certain people and sometimes we have a very difficult time trying to
figure out why. I have had many people ask me why they are so
attracted to me when I often come across as the most abrasive with
they have ever met as if I have the answer to that like I do other
questions. Fact is I have no idea. I never really thought about
personifying myself as a crowd pleaser. I don't follow the rules or
the trends and I really don't have too many regrets when someone
rolls their eyes and walks away from me.

Odd thing is that it is not to often in the pagan community that I
actually find a shinning one. A kindred spirit that has "the touch".
There are just so many half assed part time witches running around
that it is like looking through muddy water. I really do notice
people by the presence and not by their boasts.

There is a certain class of witches that seemed to be linked and
locked somehow. People that you have an unspoken spiritual connection
with. You can meet them for the very first time and the feeling you
get it a tale tell sign that this new person is somehow connected to
you. And you can call it what you want. Soul mates, soul
groups.....key word being "soul".

In talking with them you often find that they have reached a level of
spirituality that is very close to your own. It's like classmates.
There is a difference in a senior talking to someone in their own
class than in talking to a freshman. The different levels of being
carry with them a difference feeling of presence. You will find a
link to those close to your level but don't get it confused with the
notion of Unity.

The essence of Unity is something that must be achieved. Only the
potential of Unity is a natural gift. If everyone was really unified
we would never argue or actually want someone to get the hell out of
our lives. We would have to accept that fact that no matter what they
do to us or around us that they are somehow part of us.....FOREVER!
That's a scary thought. Especially when considering some of the
idiots I have met along the way. There is just some folks out there
that i don't want any connection with.

Witches have ways of feeling each other out pretty quickly. Perhaps
because we all drink from the same spiritual well so to speak when it
comes to magic overall. We can pretty much tell ya who "has it" and
who don't. In a way we can pick up on their "power". Some of them
seem completely overwhelming and others seem completely empty. And it
never really matter what they say. What matters and is up for
interpretation is how they feel to us.

Some people even feel like touchy powder kegs of explosive energy.
You find yourself being respectfully guarded against them or avoiding
them completely cause when they go they tend to take others with
them. Better safe than sorry.

Some souls seem to be hollows that just take and take and take and
never really get full. Their missing some piece of themselves that no
one can ever really put back. They gain sympathy for a while but
sooner or later they wear out their welcome.

There are countless other feelings that come with the countless pagan
souls in the world. And to the practiced witch another person does
not even have to be a witch for us to be able to read them. We meet
and we just know.

People also feel different off of the Internet which is important to
note. Here what you see is not always what you get. You could love
someone and think them wise on the computer but when you meet them in
person and get into a conversation you learn rather quickly that when
they were on line they had a book in their lap to make themselves
sound smart when their really not. Not like they can use the book
when you're face to face with them. It's rather disappointing when a
wise man is found to be a fool with a book in hand.

There are so many colors and characters in this world of ours. And in
reality the only thing that binds us together is a common topical
interest. But it is the variation in the spirits that wonder here
that make those same worn out topics ever growing and changing.

We could and do beat the topic of witchcraft into the damned ground
sometimes because you have a lot of text book groups and other
avenues that don't apply everyday life to the text. And you get a lot
of people who turn out to be book smart when it comes to witchcraft
but don't have the street smarts to actually live it.

By referencing our life and times in the subject matter and offering
examples of practical application of our spiritual lives to our
everyday lives we set an example. Get out of the book and off of the
web page and try it. Then tell others how it worked out for you. And
allow them to tell their tales in comparison to your own. That is how
we grow. And that is how we unify. Not as a pagan group but as a
single pagan spirit with all the knowledge and experience of all the
witches who have ever lived in our times.

Knowledge applied is the spirit in dance. Poetry in motion. The rest
is just stereo instructions.
