Tobaira Of the Waters

I've written a few pieces on Singers and such on a whim but I've
never had a faerie request that I write an article about them until
this last week. She has asked time and time again so in honor of her
request I suppose I should get started. I'm not sure where it is
going to lead or why she wants this in print but I suppose I will
find out somewhere along the way.

This request comes from Tobaira. Her charge is fairy waters. Natural
springs and such that have led to other tales that have yet to be
related to her work on some forums. There are all sorts of wells and
springs throughout the world that have mystical properties. These
properties come from different forms of magic that has been infused
into the water to basically create a liquid stream of energy. The
water itself is just water. Usually from deep in the earth where it
is fairly protected from all of man kinds little polluting inventions
like pesticides and unnatural chemicals. Infusing these waters with
healing energies and other forms of magic at their source is an easy
way to transport that energy for hundreds and sometimes thousands of
miles. With this method Tobaira and her helpers can cover vast areas
with little effort.

However, as time passes and mankind gets dumber her work has been
getting more difficult. The springs do not carry the potency they
once had and once in the world those energies are being countered by
energies and other things that we produce.

The waters reflect the emotional states of the humans who reside near
the springs and wells. And not too many humans are left who are in a
general good mood when it comes to the state of the world. The waters
still flow as they always have but there not able to keep up with the
over all state of the earth itself.

Even the greatest rivers are having a hard time clearing themselves
of what we have injected into them. This not only affects aquatic
areas but everything they feed. Rivers are the veins of a living
earth. And any toxins in her blood not only affect that blood but
everything that is connected to them.

Now most Witches will agree that salt will counter negative energies
depending on how it is used. And now you can understand why the
oceans and some seas are salt water. Without the salt in such a vast
amount of the waters energies would be so intense that we would not
survive. Flowing water alone, without salt, erases psychic
fingerprints and auras left behind by other things. This is the
reason we sometimes feel much better after a long shower. You're not
only clean physically but psychically as well. And when you take into
account all you come in contact with during an average day you might
want to take a shower more often, especially when around a negative
person for any length of time.

One of the problems with the waters today is that more and more
humans are clustering together in cities which tend to lead to more
than necessary stresses in "civilized" life. Crime and negativity
thrive in cities as well as pollution and poisons. Most of the
natural springs are destroyed or altered so drastically when we move
in around them that their powers are all but destroyed completely.
Most would agree that sitting along a river inside city limits is
just not the same as sitting by a river in the countryside. But most
never take the time to think of why that is. And they would rather
stay in the city because for some reason they think life is easier
there. Jobs, power, money, lights, noise, and often times over a
million people who all want to live together for some reason.
Gee....sounds very..."peaceful". But who wants peace when you can
have noise, lights, drugs, and nightly news of someone down the
street being shot? It is much more exciting when bad things happen in
your neighborhood than on the other side of the country or world. We
love all that death and destruction. That is why we watch it with
such interest. It colors our lives to see negativity run rampant in
the world. But not when it happens to us! OH HELL NO! We love it in
movies and on the news. We love it even more when we can run to the
scene to watch all the action! But when it happens to us we want to
set and cry screaming "Why me?!"

You get what you ask for and you are who you hang with. No amount of
shielding will protect you from the life you choose. And you won't
find any healing wells in the city. Most of the time you can not even
find them anywhere near a small village. Yet with all the space there
is on earth to live 80% of the population lives in cities, usually in
coastal regions or near an active volcano. We choose to live in
places that have the highest risk of danger. Ever wonder why that is?
Better yet, ever wonder why people live in these places and then
think they have a right to piss and moan when the lava is flowing
through the living room?

No one outside of our world has ever accused humans of being smart.
Which is why other races think it is necessary to help out where they
can. For them taking care of the wisest human is like raising a
child. It is in our very nature to destroy ourselves as fast as we
can. That is why we have governments -- a whole group of people who
have enough influence in our lives to find us better ways to kill
each other off! And we love them for it!

Tobaira may not have it in her to ever give up trying to heal the
world from the damage we do to it and to ourselves. But she may be
getting to the point of saying "OK you little brats! Let's see how
you like it when you don't have your guardian angel to clean up your
mess." Tobaira is a beautiful woman whose kiss alone is cool, clean,
and pure. She is the type of person whose very presence makes the
world look like crystal glass. And seeing it as such really changes
your viewpoint when it comes to all the things we humans do to dirty
it up and make it look more like foggy plastic. Just as we use water
to clean a glass she uses water to clean the world. But when the
water she uses in being dirtied by human emotion she tends to get a
bit disgusted. If you really want to know how she feels at the moment
the next time you decide to do your dishes try washing them in your
used bath water. Because that is exactly what you want her to do. Is
that a nasty thought? If it is maybe you have some work to do.
