Sins of the Father

Have you noticed that many people new to the study of paganism seem
to be in search of something to fill the hollow inside them left
there by some other religion?

Everyday more and more people walk away from the leading world
faiths, not for something new, but for something that was around
long before the latest trends.

Religions are the fashion trends of spirituality. The change often
and wile they are most likely of a different pattern they are all
cut from the same fabric. We wear religion like a cloak. But even
the best made cloaks wear out with time and sooner or later they
become out of fashion and anyone who is still holding on to them is
considered sentimental and sometimes foolish looking. The fashions
of religion do not often go retro.

I never thought of Paganism as a religion. It has no religious
foundations. No organization, no church, no one focus. Paganism is
not a fashion trend; it is the underlining order in chaos. Paganism
is world wide naked spirituality. It is what is underneath the cloak
of every single world religion, from the biggest church to the
smallest cult. And today we see more and more people dropping the
weight of their religious cloaks for the freedom and space of just
natural spirituality.

The Gods and Goddesses of paganism do not send messengers into the
world to "spread the word". They do it directly into your heart
because they know how foolish mortals can be and someone will screw
up the message. Kind of like playing "telephone".

I do believe in the Christian God. I also believe that he is the
type of God who is great coming out of the gate but not much for
stamina. He played telephone and his message has been so screwed up
by mortal minds that it got lost in some pasture about 1600 years
ago. About the same time that man decided he was going to plagiarize
Jesus. And man tried his best to change the word around a bit so
that it did not look like plagiarism but he failed miserably. When
Jesus came back and said, "I never said that you dote." they told
him to shut up. The "church" was in charge now. They didn't need him
anymore.

While all that was going on the Christian God was off playing golf
and never saw it happen. Might have worked out if he stepped up his
game a bit. He is one hell of a driver but he can't putt worth a
damn. So one game of golf ends up taking centuries because he never
learned how to find the ball, put it in his pocket, declare himself
a winner because he actually found the damned thing, and go home.
God sold a cloak to mortals and thought that it was such a good one
that it would never go out of fashion. But it did.

So people are throwing off the cloak and just being spiritual. No
dictation, no rules outside of general morality, and for the love of
all that is natural NO SUPPRESSION.

For the love of Pete, when will people learn that you cannot cap off
the human spirit and expect it not to build up so much pressure that
it explodes in your face?

We are not much more than contained energy. Put us under any kind of
pressure and we will blow up. That is what is happening today. They
put a lid on spirituality and it has finally built up so much
pressure that it is exploding like a volcano, throwing bits and
pieces of this and that everywhere.

The father of "religion" made one mistake. He thought he could
control human nature. And that was the sin that would soon turn the
world against him, one by one, until no one in his or her right mind
would be wearing his cloak for him. While the mother of spirituality
laughed and said "My kids wont listen to that. Didn't you notice
their attitude problem? They get that from me!"
