la Patrie Reverie

·I have seen the Gods with my own eyes and should I ever see fit to
kneel before that family of mine it would not be out of reverence or
respect, or would it be for insight or power, but only in asking for
forgiveness. For it is in their breast where dwells the hearts
mortality has broken and it would only be right for me to gain that
forgiveness before applying value to my worship.

·It was Dionysus who gifted man that bittersweet, potent brew that
can grant one man the wisdom to become a king and at the very same
moment make a king a fool.

·I have met Pan on several of occasions, many without much warrant,
but none less impressive than another. However, I will never forget
the first time he spoke to me directly and asked in an almost
cheerful voice, "Could you pass the salt?"

·I always thought it odd that as powerful as Zeus is n all of his
might, it is his hands that are the softest.

·Setting around with the Gods in the garden next to the babbling
brook never has appeared the most thrilling of entertainments. But
after mortals invented ego there was little else to do.

·As much as they love us…they could do without the noise.

·I've often felt bad for those who charge in only to run face first
into my Goddess Mother's cloak. For just one short ripple in that
fabric that is her shield causes terrible maelstroms that quickly
alter the fates of men.

·Just one powerful blessing from the love of the Gods will often
churn up a thousand feeble curses by the jealousies of men.

·Just because I enjoy the cool autumn breeze and the tingle that
comes with a sneeze doesn't mean that I don't miss home where these
things and infinite others are never experienced.

·…because who else can?
