Without question many of our thoughts are swayed by our feelings.
Feelings have an odd way of having power over us because for the most
part we do not get to pick and choose how we feel. We can however
pick and choose many of the details of our lives that make us feel
certain things. Especially in the other people who we choose to share
our lives with. This is key because most of the time it is the
thoughts and actions of other people that invoke thoughts and actions
in ourselves. If we surround ourselves we negative thinking people we
ourselves will often enough become negative thinking people without
much justification to it. It's just the theme of the day set by
someone else and we play to it. It's a side effect of interaction.
It's a double edged sword and the people in our lives often dictate
which side of the blade cuts up our day.
Witches have details to their hearts that are sometimes very
different than your average person. The key to our passions is
understanding. The key to theirs is often limited to the flow of the
day or personal gain. Because of our self analyzing spiritual natures
our hearts can be more open to the outside world because in practice
we open doors that can not be opened without such practices.
I often say in frustrating times "For the love of the Gods!" Such an
odd statement to come out of frustration. But an even odder statement
would be the mortal equivalent. "For the love of a witch!" I pondered
over why that statement takes me off guard.
"For the love of a witch".....meaning a love that springs forth from
a person who has looked at and knows well their own heart. A love
that has been weighed and measured by a mortal code that is not
always as unconditional as that of a Gods love. Mortal love may hold
more value than that of a Gods because we are mortal. Our love is not
everlasting in a physical sense. One day we will not be here as the
well spring of the love we do offer up to the outside world. So with
time as part of the perspective mortal love is worth more because of
supply and demand. We only have so much to give before we reach our
mortal limits. And only so much time in order to give it.
A good reason to tell your loved ones today just how much you do love
them. Not because your running out of time but simply because you
have the power to do it. Put the feelings into practice. In telling
them you exercise the muscles of love and make them stronger.
There is nothing physical about the heart of a witch. Size, form, and
appearance are nothing. And in an odd twist of nature that proves
that point it is usually the ugliest of people who have the most love
to share. In part because the hearts are not taken advantage of by
the predators who come along obsessed with the physical.
The heart of a witch sings songs that beckon us out into the world.
We actually see this world and love what we see. We don't just walk
through it. Not too many non-witches will contemplate a tree for the
simple fact that it is there. But we can learn a lot from a tree.
Chances are if it is a large one then it was there long before we
were even born and may still be there long after we are all gone. Do
you think the tree really cares who claims they own it?
Humans like to turn things into possessions. Including each other. I
would say that EVERYONE does that on a certain level. It's why
cheating on your partner is considered wrong! "He's MINE!" - "She's
MINE!" and the code be damned should someone cross those lines of
possession. We never really think about that idea that they we're
alive and well before we took on the idea of possession and will most
likely be alive and well if we were to drop that little illusion of
control.
But it's not just about possession is it?
We spin it off and call it loyalty. Loyalty to whom?
I think it to be more of a romantic truth to not say "He or She is
MINE!" but to say "I am theirs." That way we acknowledge our
decisions and are not acknowledging our illusions.
We should choose and keep in mind that it is always a choice. Not a
demand or a destiny. We choose. But more importantly so do they. And
as I am sure you all know....they do have the right and power to
change their mind. And all that possessiveness wont mean squat if
they do. Which is one of the factors that makes breaking up a hard
thing to do. Especially if we think we have some claim on them.
It doesn't have to be a romantic love either. We do the same with
friends. Old friends are the worst. Someone who has touched our life
and been part of our story for so long. The idea of loosing them for
whatever reason hurts like hell. Often because there is a big hole
where they use to be that nothing else in this world or any other can
fill.
The heart of a witch thinks about these things. And we find wisdom in
the thinking. We find understanding in the questions. And we find
more questions in the answers. It's the road map of our hearts. All
we need now is to find the courage to follow it.
